West Bend 6200 Hi-Rise Rotary Belgian Waffle Maker

West Bend 6200 Hi-Rise Rotary Belgian Waffle Maker

Plates are not removable
The main reason I purchased this waffle maker was that the description implied that the waffle plates were removable. They are not removable, and so you can only clean the waffle maker with a damp cloth.

"Dishwasher-safe drip tray and nonstick plates"

(I already have a waffle iron that I got fed up with because it was so difficult to keep the plates clean - at this point it isn't possible to get a waffle out because of how sticky everything is. Trying to fix that with a damp cloth is a nightmare.) I would have gotten a waffle maker that had more reviews (like Oster 3874 Flip Nonstick Belgian Waffle Maker) but I'd hoped I had found one with removable plates. I may return this one so I can get something I'm more sure of, so I haven't used it yet. I'll update this review with my results later.

Don't buy this product
This product broke before we could use it even once. The rotation handle broke off at the joint. The plastic is very cheap.

Waffle works great, cooks even and easy to clean up. The only drawback is that you must level the Iron when putting the mix on the grill to make sure the battle is distributed equally.
