The biggest advantage of a filter like this is that it allows all the oils from the ground coffee bean into the coffee instead of filtering it out the way paper filters do. THIS is real coffee the way it's supposed to be with all the lovely aromatic tasty natural oils from the bean included. On top of that it's environmentally friendly and thrifty, no more cutting down trees just to make a cup of coffee!
Great, Affordable Quality FIlter
We've been using this filter in our Mr. Coffee ECM21 combination espresso n' coffee machine and have had no problems whatsoever in all this time. The filter is gentle yet strong, doesn't smell or anything, looks good, comes with its own handle and very easy to clean.

Nice substitution for paper filters. Plastic trim probably doesn't improve taste of coffee, but I haven't seen any alternative.
